Welcome to Bluff View Bank!

Rooted Here Since 1883

Bluff View Bank’s story begins in Galesville, Wisconsin – long before mobile apps, debit cards, or even electricity in most homes. Chartered in 1883 as the Bank of Galesville by Isaac Clark and cashier Walter Brooks, the bank opened its doors on July 30 of that year. Our very first depositor was C.C. Chandler, editor of The Galesville Independent, who entrusted us with $100.

We were the fourth bank established in Trempealeau County – and the only one that still stands today. More than 140 years later, we’re proud to be the oldest bank in the county and one that has grown right alongside the communities we serve.

Growing With Our Communities

A lot has changed since 1883. What started as a single location in Galesville expanded to serve customers in Trempealeau and Holmen as our communities grew and evolved. Along the way, our focus stayed simple: provide reliable financial products, smart solutions and genuine service that puts people first.

As banking technology advanced, we kept pace – adding the tools our customers expect today. From mobile banking with mobile deposit and bill pay, to instant-issue debit cards at every location, ClickSWITCH automated account switching, person-to-person payments, and a variety of rewards checking and savings options designed to help customers earn more, we blend modern convenience with trusted local service.

One Name. One Connected Community.

In 2018, the Bank of Galesville, Bank of Trempealeau, and Seven Bridges Bank came together under one name: Bluff View Bank. Each original name reflected the community it served – or, in the case of Seven Bridges Bank, a local landmark. Today, our communities are more connected than ever, and a single name reflects that shared connection.

Bluff View Bank is a nod to the beautiful bluffs that define this part of Wisconsin – and to our deep roots in the landscape and people who call it home.

Recognized for Strength and Stability

Over the years, our commitment to strong, responsible banking has been recognized nationally. We’ve been named by the Independent Community Bankers of America as one of the top-performing banks in America in our asset size category ($75–$150 million). We’re also consistently rated a 5-Star bank by Bauer Financial, the nation’s leading independent bank rating service.

These recognitions matter – not just to us, but to our customers – because they reflect financial strength, stability, and sound management.

The Same Values, Generation After Generation

While banking has evolved since 1883, our mission has not. Whether you prefer to bank online, on your phone, or face-to-face, our focus is always on you.

We take pride in knowing our customers, supporting our neighbors, and investing in the communities where we live and work. Through employee volunteerism, local sponsorships, and everyday interactions, we strive to make our communities great places to live and do business.
